The receipt you need is already there
Open the DoorDash app, tap Orders, select the order, and press Receipt — every order you’ve placed has a full itemized receipt stored there, fees, tax, and tip included. Need a PDF or a paper copy? Open the same order on doordash.com, click View Receipt, then Download Receipt. That’s the short answer. The step-by-step for each method — and what to do with the receipt once you have it — is below.
The receipt matters more often than you’d think. Over 3.1 billion orders were completed on DoorDash in 2025, and when one of yours needs an expense report, a dispute, or a fair split, the confirmation email is usually buried under promotions. A 2019 survey by Green America and Censuswide found that people lose paper receipts they meant to keep about five times a month, and most estimate they throw away or lose over half of the paper receipts they receive. A digital receipt, meanwhile, is only as findable as your inbox search — “DoorDash” matches hundreds of promotional messages before it matches the order you need.
